The Hawaii County Department of Environmental Management has announced the development of an Integrated Wastewater Management Plan aimed at providing a comprehensive strategy for cesspool conversions and sewer infrastructure projects across the region.
This initiative reflects the county’s commitment to preserving Hawaii Island’s natural beauty and health for generations to come, according to a county press release.
As part of this plan, the county will be conducting two rounds of public engagement workshops to share vital information and gather valuable input from the community.
The first round of workshops will focus on cesspool conversions and will be held at the following locations:
